Rounded kufi hats

These ones are rounded tops with no points. I have developped three slightly different patterns according to demands.

Six piece extra pointy!

Some one asked me if I could make a more pointy version of my kufi hats, so here it is. I just added an extra centimetre in hight to my six piece slightly pointy pattern. The one on the left features my hand dyed batik fabric.

Trying to make that vertex a bit easier with a six piece pattern.

Four piece variation

I made this variation of the eight piece hat because it makes sewing the top easier. I combined the top straight bit of two pieces, reducing to a four piece pattern. The cons is that there is more fabric waste when cutting the pieces and the bottom rim can't allways be on grain. I used some of my hand dyed batik fabric for theese two hats.

Eight piece, slightly pointed kufi hat.

This slightly pointed hat is very nicely fitting on a variety of heads. It's made from an eight piece pattern, winch has evolved to find the perfect shape and fit. Although, depending on the fabric, the eight part vertex can sometimes make it quite laborious or difficult to sew.
